Private Machine Embroidery Lesson

Up to Two-Hour One-on-One Session

Learn a focused machine-embroidery skill during a personalized up to two-hour private lesson. Students select one lesson topic when booking so the session can be tailored to their goals, machine, software and experience level.

Left-Chest Shirt Embroidery

Learn how to prepare and embroider a basic lettering design for left-chest placement on a shirt.

Instruction may include:

  • Creating or editing basic lettering

  • Sizing and positioning the design

  • Selecting the correct stabilizer

  • Hooping or floating the shirt

  • Saving and exporting the embroidery file

  • Loading the design onto the embroidery machine

  • Stitching the finished design

Machine Appliqué

Learn how to complete a shirt appliqué using a premade embroidery design.

Instruction includes:

  • Understanding placement and tack-down stitches

  • Choosing appliqué fabric and stabilizer

  • Preparing and hooping the project

  • Trimming the appliqué fabric

  • Completing the finishing stitches

  • Saving and loading the design

Embroidered Patch Making

Learn how to create a finished patch using a premade embroidery design.

Instruction includes:

  • Selecting patch fabric and stabilizer

  • Preparing the design and materials

  • Stitching the patch

  • Finishing the patch edges

  • Reviewing ways to attach patches to shirts, bags and other projects

Introductory Appliqué Digitizing

Learn how to use quick features in compatible embroidery software to create a simple appliqué letter or shape and add it to a design.

Instruction may include:

  • Creating a simple appliqué element

  • Adding it to a premade design

  • Reviewing stitch order and color stops

  • Saving and exporting the embroidery file

  • Completing a test stitch-out

This is an introductory lesson and does not include advanced logo digitizing or complex custom artwork.

 

Pricing Options

Bring Your Own Embroidery Machine — $165

Students must bring:

  • A working embroidery machine

  • Power cord and machine accessories

  • Appropriate embroidery hoop

  • Laptop and compatible embroidery software when required

  • Machine manual, when available

Use the Studio’s 4×4 Embroidery Machine — $175

A beginner-friendly studio embroidery machine will be provided. Designs must fit within a maximum 4×4-inch embroidery area.

Included

  • Two hours of private instruction

  • Embroidery thread

  • Stabilizer

  • Appliqué fabric

  • Patch-making materials

  • Needles and basic finishing supplies

  • Test-stitch fabric

  • Use of standard studio embroidery tools

 

Shirt Option

Students completing a shirt-based project may:

  • Bring their own clean, embroidery-ready shirt at no additional charge

  • Add a standard blank T-shirt for $10

Studio-provided shirts are subject to available sizes and colors. Specialty shirts may require an additional fee.

Important Booking Information

Each appointment covers one selected embroidery lesson topic or project. Lesson content may be adjusted based on the student’s experience, machine, software and working pace.

Standard supplies are selected from available studio materials. Specialty designs, garments, fabrics, thread colors or additional materials requested by the student may require an added fee.

Private Sewing Lessons

Four-Week One-on-One Sewing Series

Build your sewing confidence through four personalized private lessons. This series includes one 60-minute lesson each week for four weeks, with one beginner-friendly project completed during each session.

Students will receive hands-on instruction in:

  • Sewing-machine setup and operation

  • Threading and bobbin winding

  • Measuring and cutting fabric

  • Seam allowances and straight stitching

  • Pressing and project preparation

  • Following step-by-step sewing instructions

  • Troubleshooting common sewing problems

Each project is designed to introduce new skills while helping the student complete something useful and take home a finished item each week.

Pricing Options

Bring Your Own Sewing Machine — $250

Students must bring:

  • A working sewing machine

  • Power cord and foot pedal

  • Machine accessories normally used with the machine

  • Machine manual, when available

Use a Studio Sewing Machine — $275

A beginner-friendly studio sewing machine will be provided for use during each lesson.

Included

  • Four private one-hour lessons

  • Four guided sewing projects

  • Standard fabric and project supplies

  • Use of studio cutting, measuring and pressing tools

  • Personalized instruction and troubleshooting

Standard project materials will be selected from the studio’s available fabric and supply inventory. Specialty fabrics, custom materials or additional projects may require an added fee.
